SUSSEX
With strong and confident men comes a strong and confident society. The gymnastic movement amongst men in this age gives me great hope for the future calibre of Englishmen. Men who are philosophically minded, masters of their health and role models for the next generation of England.
In recent decades, knighthood has degenerated into something mediocre: a token for greedy entrepreneurs, ridiculous reenactment movements and lost relics of history. But this is not what knighthood is or should be. Knighthood is a fraternity. It is young men making a commitment to themselves, their role models and those that look up to them to be the best versions of themselves; to master all the faculties the mind and the body have to offer and to use them to protect our country, our friends, our families by word and action against the many terrible evils we find plaguing our world.
In ancient Greece, school was not the end of education. The very best of men would join societies; master the skill of fighting and use it to protect themselves and those that could not. This institution became known as knighthood. It is this neglected institution — the institution that became the paradigm for Christian men — which I have revived in this Order, and its benefits which I intend to perpetuate for all whom join its ranks. Just as we have Confirmation to affirm our faith, so we have knighthood to affirm a life of healthy body, healthy mind and healthy soul.
Men of England, I urge you to sign up to the Order. Become a knight, live amongst friends to become the best versions of yourselves, learn to place honour above all other ambitions in life.
