Join a guild

Pitch penny and show penny

Under a royal charter from 1670, the Baron may charge a pitch penny and a show penny for use of land and display of goods for commercial purposes within the Manor. Adjusted for inflation, this amounts to £6.08 per business per day of trading.

If you trade, or intend to trade within six and two-third miles of the village of Cuckfield, be advised that this may apply to you.

Mercantile commendations
The Baron will be delighted to send a letter of praise to any business in the Manor which has made a significant contribution to the life of local commerce. You may apply for one by contacting him here.
